The More or Less TPP Moves Forward

The Australian Government will sign the On 3 March 2018 the Australian Government will sign the TPP 11 trade treaty in Santiago Chile on 8 March 2018, affirming its commitment to the treaty text agreed by the parities in Tokyo on 23 January 2018.

By and large, it will be Trans Pacific Partnership agreement broadly agreed to prior to the United States withdrawing from the process

One gets the feeling there’ll still be a place for the US ….in due course.

One thing that will happen is that the whole parliamentary treaty review process system will start from scratch – the text and a National Interest Analysis will be tabled in Parliament and the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties will conduct full public enquiries into the Agreement.
